Preferred term
school-based health promotion
Definition
- School-based health promotion refers to activities that occur in schools and on school grounds that facilitate student and school staff adoption of healthful behaviors and healthful lifestyle choices. Schoolbased health promotion is not just about teaching students what they should do to be healthy; rather, it includes providing environments where making the healthy choice is the easy and normative choice for students.
