Definition
- Today, large-scale science and technology (S&T) and the information, knowledge, and news that these generate are concentrated in the so-called developed world. Major international collaborations in science and technology today that will extend into the first few decades of the 21st century include such projects as the Large Hadron Collider of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (or Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire, known as CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland; the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in Cadarache, France; and the International Space Station.
