skin pigmentation disorders
Definition
- Skin pigmentation disorders, while rarely life-threat-ening, can be alarming and discomfiting for patients given their visible nature. They are generally divided into two categories: disorders of hypopigmentation, where affected skin is lighter than surrounding skin, and disorders of hyperpigmentation, where affected skin is darker.
