Definition
- Social learning theory (also called social cognitive theory) is a general theory of learning that explains how people not only learn directly through their own trial-and-error efforts but also through observation of other's behaviors and the positive or negative outcomes of those behaviors. The theoretical foundations of social learning theory can be found in the work of Albert Bandura. [Source: Encyclopedia of Public Relations; Social Learning Theory]
