Definition
- Juvenile delinquency is defined as criminal and/or deviant behavior that is committed by minors. This includes criminal offending that is prohibited for anyone to engage in as well as status offending, which consists of various acts prohibited only for those under the legal age of adulthood (e.g., smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, and running away), usually age 18, that otherwise would be legal if committed by an adult.
