Definition
- The way information is transmitted (e.g., means of encoding); channels of communication; the capacity, variability, noise, and redundancy inherent in the communicational transmitting system; and the patterns of speech over time. In marriages, syntax refers to such qualities as who-to-whom speech, the percentage of speaking time, the parsimony of speech, and the ratio of information to noise.
