Definition
- The pathophysiology of the special senses of taste and smell are not as well understood as those of the more basic senses of sight and hearing. Nevertheless, recent research into the topic has delivered an important insight: the sense of taste (gustatory sense) is strongly related to sense of smell (olfactory sense).
