Definition
- Over the course of his career, Foucault was concerned with two types of connection between bodies and power: (1) technologies of domination, which are largely institutional; and (2) technologies of the self, which are exercised by the subject. Foucault was interested in how these two types of technologies interact in the constitution and distribution of authority and influence, and the governance of society.
