Definition
- Telemedicine (TM) can be defined as the practice of medicine at a distance, using the definition of the Greek word tele-for “far” with “medicine.” This literal definition does not represent the full use of the word in this growing method to deliver health care using communication technologies. Another word, telehealth (TH), is increasingly being used to define the broader application of distant communications to health care and information.
