Definition
- Tracking in schools involves differentiating the curriculum and organizing students for instruction based on perceived academic ability levels. The practice of tracking students became popular in high schools in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century and remains nearly universal today, although the implementation of the practice has changed since its inception.
