watersheds
Definition
- People involved with natural resource and environmental planning in the United States have sometimes pointed to the desirability of defining community in terms of hydrological, or watershed, boundaries. A community so defined brings together many disparate preexisting communities whose members often have not thought of themselves as comprising a larger community, but whose shared interest in preserving the quality of their environment and their water is actually a potentially powerful unifying force.
