- Throughout the Past 25 years, a new form of expression, hip-hop, has continually evolved despite the efforts of many in so-called mainstream culture to minimize its influence on young people. Hip-hop is a form of expression that was once limited to urban music and dance but has now become a widespread form of communication and expression by young people throughout the world.
