Definition

  • Gender-based terrorism refers to acts of politically motivated violence or sustained threats of violence in which victims are targeted because of their gender, and as a strategy for terrorizing a larger, target audience. The intent is to place the targeted audience in a state of chronic fear or terror so that they or their representatives accede to terrorist demands.
