gender and new media

Definition

  • “Gender” describes the social construction of people as male and female, apart from biological considerations. Gender theorists argue that most notions regarding what it means to “act as a man” or “seem like a woman” stem from culturally inherited ideas about gender, rather than from physiological differences between the sexes.
