In evaluation, the term inspection is associated with the evaluation conducted by an office of inspectors general, a particular governmental agency, or international agencies such as the United Nations. Offices of inspectors general are common throughout the world and serve both internal and external evaluation purposes, including reporting to an agency manager as well as to a government officer or body outside the agency being inspected.
