  • Internal colonialism, a theory on race, came into popularity during the Civil Rights Movement and is used by Black activists to explain White and Black relations in the United States. Internal colonialism exemplifies a form of exploitation and disinvestment in minority racial and ethnic communities by a dominant race in the same nation.
