  • Mother-child play is an enjoyable activity shared by a mother and her child that facilitates the child's opportunity to choose, lead, and/or initiate play, while the mother responds accordingly or initiates play. Through this activity, children may express and process their emotional, physical, and cognitive needs while using objects or toys in a variety of ways, according to their ability.
