resampling

Definition

  • The process of repeatedly sampling from a sample in order to estimate what other samples from a population would look like were we able to take them. Rather than taking numerous samples from a population to determine the ∗standard error (something that is usually done only in theory), one draws one sample and repeatedly resamples from it.
