Definition
- Response cost is the taking away of positive reinforcers from an individual's pool of available reinforcers when a specific undesirable behavior occurs. Example: To try to cure a boy of playing with matches, each time the boy strikes a match, one penny is removed from a stack of pennies he had been given previously.
