Definition
- A nonprofit healthcare organization is legally structured as a not-for-profit corporation and is prohibited from distributing profits to its owners, members, or other individuals with oversight for the organization. Nonprofits have a charitable mission related to the provision of healthcare services, teaching, research, and/or community service, and they are legally required to work towards the mission.
