  • Over recent years, there has been an increasing recognition that behaviors, as well as the environmental contexts in which they are exhibited, are important to the conceptualization of the health of African Americans. Studies have begun to explore the dynamic relationship between behavior and health in an increasing number of diseases including cancer, diabetes, and asthma, while constantly integrating an increasing number of behaviors (smoking, eating, exercise, etc.).
