  • Cape Verde is a small archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean about 500 kilometers off the western coast of Africa. It was uninhabited until the arrival of the Portuguese in the 15th century, who turned it into a main transfer point for their trade routes between Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.
