Modern Red SchoolHouse

Definition

  • The Modern Red SchoolHouse (MRSH), a nonprofit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee, began as part of a larger reform effort in the United States to design and create schools for the 21st century—where all students could achieve world-class academic standards. Development of the MRSH design began in 1992 when the New American Schools Development Corporation awarded the Hudson Institute a contract to design and pilot a comprehensive blueprint for 21st-century schools.
