Thematic Apperception Test

Definition

  • A projective personality measure in which the subject is presented with a series of pictures of people engaged in some activity, either alone or with up to two others. Subjects are asked to generate stories about the pictures, which are vague enough to elicit a number of different responses yet intended to lead test takers to similar associations.
