  • The conjunction of criminal opportunity (CCO) theory is a framework designed to draw together the major, immediate causes of criminal events, and in parallel, the major “families” of intervention principles deployable to block, weaken, or divert those causes, thereby preventing crime. It serves theoretical, academic purposes; the development and management of practice knowledge; and practitioner education.
