critical applications

Definition

  • As businesses move closer and closer to having all of their tools available through computing, many risk and business continuity managers are today focusing their efforts on ensuring that systems, or applications, are always available to ensure that productivity continues and that business operations do not stop. But through this increased emphasis on making applications available, or quickly recoverable during a time of crisis, a more thorough process has been designed to take into consideration which applications must recover the quickest, which ones can take a lower priority, and how much it costs to ensure that the proper technology is in place in order to accomplish these goals.
