Preferred term

emerging markets

Definition

  • Emerging market is a loose term, one often used by people who are not entirely comfortable with it but have not found a useful substitute. What substitutes do exist tend to be highly specific and have criticisms of their own, like BRICs or Asian Tigers (or the various other Tigers).
