  • The term ethnoviolence was first used in a report for the National Institute Against Prejudice and Violence in 1986 to describe an act or attempted act that is motivated by group prejudice and intended to cause physical or psychological injury. These violent acts may include intimidation, harassment, group insults, property defacement or destruction, and physical attacks.
