Preferred term

global ideologies

Definition

  • Debates in global studies often revolve around globalization's “objective” dimensions such as economics and technology. Although material processes are certainly important, it is crucial to note that globalization also consists of “subjective” dynamics, such as the circulation of ideologically charged narratives and discourses that put before the public a particular agenda of topics for discussion, questions to ask, and claims to make.
