Preferred term

homogeneity of regression

Definition

  • the regression coefficients being similar or homogeneous in an analysis of covariance or multivariate analysis of covariance for the different categories or groups of an independent variable. The results of such an analysis are difficult to interpret if the regression coefficients are not homogeneous because this means that the relationship between the covariate and the dependent variable is not the same across the different groups.
