Interacademy Council Report on IPCC

Definition

  • The InterAcademy Council is a body of national science academies from all regions of the world and is independent of governments and the United Nations (UN) system. In the wake of controversies and allegations against the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in March 2010, the chairman of the IPCC and the secretary general of the United Nations requested the InterAcademy Council (IAC) to review the “processes and procedures” of the IPCC, which was established as an independent, intergovernmental scientific panel in 1988.
