- In making the journey from the laboratory to the daily newspaper, evening news broadcast, or parenting magazine, scholarly information derived from developmental science often gets lost in translation. Media coverage of developmental science and related fields fulfills an essential step in bringing profoundly important information about child development to the attention of the public, but the material in question is often subject to dilution, unwarranted simplification, or complete misinterpretation.
