Definition

  • Since the invention of the music video, certain tropes continue to appear regardless of the music genre, ranging from country to rock to hip-hop. Some of the most common themes include the sexualization of students and teacher–student fantasies; water imagery remains a common trope, often used to heighten the sensuality of a situation; another common theme is men hunting and taking advantage of women; and finally, there is the trope of an independent woman fulfilling her desires.
