  • Theory Z refers to a managerial style of managing and motivating staff that seeks to create a workplace that provides for a range of employees' psychological needs. Typically, Theory Z management style provides employees with secure employment, high levels of trust and responsibility, team-based decision making, and an approach to management that treats an employee as a complete entity—which can also include his or her family unit.
