Fundamental Curriculum Questions, the 26th NSSE Yearbook

Definition

  • The 26th Yearbook of the National Society for the Study of Education (NSSE), The Foundations and Technique of Curriculum-Construction, has taken on legendary dimensions for the field of curriculum studies. Although folklore states that the field of curriculum began in the United States 1918 with the publication of the first U.S. book (by Franklin Bobbitt) with the title curriculum, the NSSE yearbook committee was brought together to conceive some semblance of theoretical constructs for curriculum development and in so doing, to establish a distinct academic field.
