- Among social phenomena that raise important philosophical as well as social-scientific issues is the phenomenon of collective emotions. The main purpose of this entry is to present a classification of collective emotional phenomena in terms of their degree or level of collectivity, using existing theoretical concepts of collective emotions as examples of different types of collective emotions.
