- The management of the infectious disease HIV is defined as the comprehensive management of the medical, psychological, and psychosocial functioning of HIV-infected children and adolescents. Medical management of HIV-infected youth includes use of combination anti-retroviral therapy, treatment of opportunistic infections, and regular medical care to address comorbid conditions and provide routine medical care.
