power of ideas

Definition

  • There is a bewildering variety of ideas—great and small ideas, scientific and moral ideas, realistic and fantastic ideas, actionable and idle ideas, complex and simple ideas, to say nothing about ideas specific to different fields, such as politics, economics, and religion. Ideas, as abstractions or as elementary units of thought or meaning, feature in numerous discourses, including many different branches of philosophy, as well as the history of ideas.
