Definition

  • Preference, or Preferans, is a trick-taking card game played with a 32-card deck formed by removing the twos through sixes from a standard 52-card deck. The name comes from the term used in Boston for the preferred trump suit (determined by the last card of the deal), and the game was developed in Boston's heyday as a Whist variant.
