transportation geography

Definition

  • Transportation geography is the subfield that deals with the movement of people and goods across space, as well as the social and material infrastructures that enable or constrain those movements. More than most subfields of geography, transportation geography has strong connections with outside disciplines, including economics, engineering, planning, and landscape architecture.
