Perry Preschool Project
Definition
- The High/Scope Perry Preschool Study found experimental evidence that a high-quality preschool program has lifetime effects on participants, cutting their crime rate in half and producing a large financial return on investment. Members of a sample of 123 young African American children living in poverty were randomly assigned to a program group that received a high-quality preschool program at ages 3 and 4 or a no-program group.
