Definition
- Although some African Americans belong to traditional Jewish congregations, there also exists a separate African American Jewry, one of the many variants of Judaism and one with a long history in the United States. Although numbers have been debated, there is some consensus that Black American Jewry may consist of between 100,000 and 260,000 members.
