feminist disability theory
Definition
- Feminist disability theory is an emerging school of thought that includes an interdisciplinary group of scholars conducting a critical analysis of how we come to know what we know about meanings of disability and ability. Scholars in the fields of sociology, psychology, cultural studies, gender studies, disability studies, and literature contribute to the analysis of how these understandings intersect with a range of cultural notions, including gender ideologies.
