Definition
- The term hysterectomy refers to surgical removal of the uterus (womb). “Total” or “complete” hysterectomy includes removing the fundus (top or “body”) and the cervix (bottom or “neck”); partial or supra-cervical hysterectomy does not involve the cervix.
