social choice
Definition
- The first text in social choice theory was Kenneth J. Arrow's 1951 Social Choice and Individual Values. Arrow's approach, which was consistent with rational choice, and his result, stated in the impossibility theorem, served to end the social welfare economics tradition and to construct the new field of social choice.
