- On October 12, 2002, a car bomb exploded outside a nightclub in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali, killing more than 200 people. Aside from the loss of life, the attack was of great significance to Southeast Asia, Australia, and the entire global community for a number of reasons.
