- On March 11, 2004, a series of 10 bombs detonated aboard four commuter trains in Madrid, Spain. The trains connect Alcalá de Henares (home to Latin American and eastern European immigrant communities) to the southeast part of the city. [Source: The SAGE Encyclopedia of Terrorism; Madrid Bombings]
