- On September 3, 2003, Paul Jennings Hill, a former Presbyterian minister, became the first anti-abortion terrorist to be executed for the murder of an abortion provider. Hill was also the first person to be tried under the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which was passed by Congress after the first murder of an abortion provider occurred in March 1993, when Dr. [Source: The SAGE Encyclopedia of Terrorism; Hill, Paul Jennings (1954–2003)]
