Radio Student and Radio Mars
Definition
- Slovenia was the only republic that survived the violent collapse of former Yugoslavia without much bloodshed; it joined the European Union in May 2004, adopted the Euro currency in 2007, and is defined as the region's most successful example of political and economic transition. Within these processes, student movements (Radio Student, Ljubljana) and activism for emancipation from the state (Radio Mars, Maribor) helped to create crucial social changes.
