Definition
- Father involvement has been an area of study since the 1970s, with the majority of research completed after the mid-1980s. The term father involvement encompasses the number of hours fathers spend directly interacting with their children and being accessible to their children, as well as fathers' investment in the parental role and associated responsibilities.
